The Board of Directors at Whitby Town declined Hyde's request to postpone the league fixture tomorrow night.
This request was to help Hyde United prepare for their 4th Qualifying Round FA Cup fixture this Saturday.
Although Whitby declined the request, the decision was taken out of the club's hands by the Northern Premier League.
Here's Whitby Town's statement in full:
Whitby Town received an approach from our opponents on Saturday evening requesting for the fixture to be postponed on Tuesday evening.
Due to the exceptionally short notice, and taking in to consideration the time, expense, organisation and preparation which had already gone into hosting the fixture, the request was declined by the Board of Directors.
We were desperate to have a home match after playing four matches away from home in a row. This will now be six matches by the time Saturday, 22nd October comes around for our fixture with Stalybridge Celtic - over a month since our last home game.
Disappointingly, the decision was taken out of our hands on Sunday evening when the Northern Premier League postponed the game.
