Whitby Town will host Ilkeston as they search for their first home victory of the new football season following a midweek defeat to Guiseley.

An opportunity to bounce back presents itself at the upcoming fixture following a midweek defeat. The squad faced Guiseley on Tuesday, and despite a strong individual performance from midfielder Sam Kay, the team ultimately suffered a 2-1 loss.
The man of the match award was secured by Kay during the Tuesday night game. The midfielder believes the squad could have asserted more dominance during the match, but he insists that morale remains positive among the players as they look ahead to their next opponents.
Speaking to Whitby Town TV, Sam Kay said Ilkeston will be formidable opposition:
"Good team, so solid team, strong team. Got a good start to the season, also, but, we're at home, fans behind us, two decent performances, I think. I, we could have been a bit more aggressive, could have been a bit more dominant Tuesday night, but now looking forward to it, relishing the opportunity to go and, and put things right for the Whitby boys and everyone's in good spirits. I know, like, in the group chat and everything, we're in good spirits. We're not letting it get to us too much. Don't get too high on the highs, don't get too low on the lows, as Denny says. And the Gaffer, we've got a lot to show, we just need to get it out of us and get that positive start at home and make our home a fortress."
Left wing-back Stan Hewitt told This is The Coast:
"After the disappointment of Tuesday against a strong Guiseley side, we've had a good training session on Thursday night and the boys are in good spirits. I think the one thing the fans and people watching will see from us this season is hard work, determination and a will to win. We will be looking to put things right on Saturday and put in a good performance for the fans."
