Whitby Town will make the long trip to Workington this Tuesday night for new manager Graeme Lee's first away match in charge.
A coast-to-coast slog awaits Whitby Town players this Tuesday night as they travel to Workington for their latest clash in the NPL Premier.
The midweek fixture marks a significant milestone for the club, serving as the very first away match for new manager Graeme Lee.
Fans following the team will also witness an away debut for Lucas Barnes, the midfielder who recently joined the squad on loan from Harrogate Town.
Lee told Whitby Town TV:
"I'm used to the long journey, but now it's going to be another challenge- the lads will hopefully have to recover now and be ready for the journey. We'll assess their bodies and what we've got and hopefully I'm badgering other teams who've got players who might be able to improve us as we move forward."
A solid defensive performance remains a priority for the team as they look to secure a vital victory on the road despite the heavy travel demands.
Barnes told Whitby Town TV:
"We'll need to crack on with Tuesday, keep getting clean sheets and then hopefully the goals start coming as well. Obviously, it'll be a long way, but hopefully, we get the three points and the journey back is a bit more happier."
You can hear more from Lee, Barnes and goalkeeper Oli Swan on the latest edition of The Codcast.
Supporters who are unable to travel across the country to Workington can still follow every kick of the Tuesday night action.
Live commentary of the NPL Premier match will be broadcast on This Is The Coast Extra, with coverage getting underway from 7.45pm.
