Lee Bullock said Tuesday's defeat to Guiseley was a wake up call for his side after Saturday's opening day victory at Leek.
Two goals in ten minutes at the start of the second half won it for West Yorkshire side Guiseley.
Impressive midfielder Sam Kay struck the crossbar and came close with a long-rang effort soon after.
Bullock spoke to Whitby Town TV after the final whistle:
The Blues are back at home, to Ilkeston, this coming Saturday.
Kick off is 3pm.
