Filey will once again play host to the Trackrod Rally in September.
The Trackrod Rally has confirmed it will once again be setting up it's rally HQ in the town.
The motor sport event will return to the town on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd September 2023, with it's rally HQ in the Evron Centre and the rally cars assembling at the Country park and on the seafront.
Deputy Clerk of the Course - Lloyd Walker - says they are expecting a bumper entry for the event.
The event will see hundreds of cars muster in the resort before taking part in racing in Dalby and Cropton Forests.
Noise test and scrutineering will still take place on Friday afternoon/evening as previously in a marquee at Filey Brigg Country Park.
For the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire, Trackrod Historic Cup and Trackrod Land Rover Challenge competitors, the now traditional competitive stage is expected to take place on the Friday evening in Dalby Forest.
The Beach in Filey will host the Ceremonial Start on Friday evening from 18.30hrs with the first car being flagged away at 19.01hrs.
The competitors will then restart on Saturday morning,from NY500 Pickering at 08.45hrs, joined by the remaining competitors from the Trackrod Forest Stages. The finish will, once again, be at The Beach, Filey from about 15.15hrs.
Servicing of the cars will be based at Filey Brigg Country Park at mid-day Saturday.
Deputy Clerk of the Course - Lloyd Walker - says the event will bring a lot of people and money to the town.
The event encompasses stages for a number of national competitions. This year's event will include
- The BRC in the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire,
- The Fuchs Lubricants Motorsport UK British Historic Championship.
- The 2023 Motoscope Northern Historic Gravel Rally Championship are part of the Trackrod Historic Cup
- Trackrod Forest Stages hosts the seventh round of the MRF Tyres BTRDA Rally Series and will also count as a round of the Motorsport UK 2023 English Championship in Association with SEACON UK, together with the ANCC, ANWCC and ANECCC Regional Championships.
- The Armed Forces Rally Team and the Bowler Defender Challenge comprise the Trackrod Land Rover Challenge.
