East Riding Council's leader says she's been working well with the region's new mayor.
Anne Handley- a Conservative- says there's been lots of cross-party co-operation- with co-leaders from the Liberal Democrats and Reform Mayor Luke Campbell.
Councillor Handley added:
" So we have worked really well together and we all bring different strengths to the table. I can honestly say that me, Campbell is extremely enthusiastic and very passionate about wanting to do the right thing for the region. He actually brought in the £1.6 million for for our area from the green energy fund which is something that maybe his party are not always okay with, but he looks beyond that."
She further enthused:
"I can honestly say from my own personal opinion of working with Mayor Campbell, there is a good cross party working relationship. I can't think of a another area in the whole of England that currently has a Liberal Democrat leader, a conservative leader, and a reform mayor. You couldn't write that, but it is actually working and it appears initially to be working really well."
