Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a serious collision that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.
It happened shortly after midnight on Seamer Road, near the Hyundai Garage.
The incident involved a red Citroen C1 which collided with a telegraph pole. A 16‑year‑old boy, who was a passenger in the vehicle, remains in a serious condition. A 17‑year‑old boy has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences and is currently in police custody.
The road was closed until around 7am to allow for a full investigation of the scene and recovery of the vehicle.
Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time.
