Experienced forward Stuart Rose will lead Whitby Town into the new Northern Premier League campaign after being handed the captain's armband.
The Whitby Town squad will be led by Stuart Rose for the 2026/27 season.
The experienced forward steps into the leadership role just in time for the Seasiders' season opener, which takes place at Leek Town on Saturday afternoon.
Manager Lee Bullock made the appointment ahead of the new Northern Premier League campaign, citing the striker's immediate impact since arriving at the Towbar Express Stadium.
A summer transfer brought Rose to Whitby following a highly successful spell with Boro Rangers. During his time there, he established himself as one of the region's most prolific goalscorers.
Respect from teammates and coaching staff came quickly for the new signing. This swift integration was driven by his visible leadership, professionalism, and unyielding commitment both on and off the pitch.
Manager Lee Bullock said:
"Stuart has shown from the moment he arrived that he is a natural leader. His standards are excellent, he sets a great example for the younger players and he has the experience and character needed to captain this football club.
He understands what is required to be successful and we feel he is the right person to lead the group heading into the new season."
