Stop Moaning Plea from Bridlington Santa Team

Bridlington Roundtable have taken to Facebook to ask people to stop moaning about this years Santa Sleigh Tour of the town.

The annual fundraising tour has taken place every year since 1985 raising thousands of pounds for local good causes.

This year the Roundtable have said the COVID situation means things will be a little bit different for Santa and his sleigh. At the weekend the team announced the arrangements they have put in place for the event.

Unfortunately we cannot give sweets, any donations on the evenings must be bagged and handed which we all appreciate. Santa is very vulnerable so he will not leave the sleigh but he will accept selfies from 2 meters. We are hoping that we can get a digital platform online for donations but we will except donations in individual bags and posted into one of our donation buckets. This year we’ve limited SANTAS helpers to 3 elves. We don’t intend to beat any record, we intend to spread happiness, joy, hope and morale. Bridlington we send our love and we ask please stay safe! Take care of each other, support each other and hopefully 2021 is all our year! Best wishes Bridlington Roundtable

But after comments on social media bemoaning the changes the Roundtable have posted asking people to stop moaning about the arrangements.

Bridlington Roundtable request you please STOP moaning about what we are trying to do. Here’s why:
  • 1. We are ALL volunteers coming out for 8 nights during December to bring joy and festivity to Bridlington
  • 2. We are doing this under strict Covid guidelines which means some things have to change
  • 3. We are not giving out the 10p bags of sweets to keep both YOU and US safe !! Just stop moaning about it
  • 4. All your positive comments are greatly appreciated but for those few members of the public who feel the need to complain, moan or just generally take to being keyboard warriors STOP. It really gets to us and casts a cloud over the whole operation
  • 5. The money we raise goes directly to the people of Bridlington who need our help and support. This is ever more important in these challenging times. Your donations aren’t buying sweets !!
  • 6. Stop swearing at us, how old are you !
  • 7. It is actually IMPOSSIBLE for us to come to every street in Bridlington. Why is this hard to understand. We know that there are many disappointed if we can’t come down your street but it’s just one of those things. Feel free to come outside and watch him rather than him passing your window.
  • 8. We could very easily have said this year we aren’t bringing Santa round. But we didn’t, we pulled out all the stops to make this tradition happen. It has been going since 1985 and let us tell you, the few people that think your negativity will stop us, it won’t !
  • 9. Have a lovely Christmas, we look forward to seeing you all with extremely loud festive music and bringing Joy at the end of what has been a very difficult year for all.

The Roundtable are hoping to raise £6000 from this years tour with donations being made on their Just Giving Page

❌PLEASE CAN WE REQUEST YOU STOP MOANING !!!❌ Bridlington Roundtable request you please STOP moaning about what we are...
