"If I cheer one person up who's feeling a little low, I've achieved what I wanted".
That's from Wayne Brunskill, one of many local people putting Christmas decorations up early this year.
He says it's been a difficult year for many and he wants to put a smile on people's faces:
"A lot of people have been furloughed. We have a lot of people in Staxton who are off work and at home now. We just want to make it look nice. It is there for the people who live in the village, people who walk their dogs. It's just something to try and cheer them up".
