Staithes And Runswick Rnli Auction Returns To Easter Weekend For 2026 Fundraiser

Staithes and Runswick RNLI’s much loved annual auction returns to its traditional Easter weekend slot in 2026, taking place at 9.00pm on Sunday 5 April at the Cod and Lobster, Staithes.

The previous auction, which was held as the finale to the RNLI’s 200th anniversary year, raised over £6,000 to support the charity’s lifesaving work.

Building on that success, the 2026 event promises another lively evening of bidding, community spirit, and support for Staithes’ volunteer lifeboat crews.

This year’s auction features an exciting and varied selection of lots, including:

  • A rare behind the scenes and underground tour of Boulby Potash Mine
  • A boat trip on the River Tees
  • A wide range of art, memorabilia, local crafts, and unique experiences

The auction will once again be hosted by BBC Bargain Hunt’s Caroline Hawley, whose enthusiasm and expertise have become a highlight of the event. The Cod and Lobster will provide its familiar seafront setting, welcoming both locals and visitors as they gather to support the station.

The station remains deeply grateful for the continued support of Caroline Hawley. Her presence brings energy, expertise, and a wonderful sense of occasion to the event each year.

Equal appreciation goes to the management and staff of the Cod and Lobster, whose warm hospitality and willingness to host the auction make the evening possible. Their ongoing support provides a welcoming setting for the community to come together in aid of the RNLI.

The fundraising team is still accepting donations, and supporters are encouraged to contribute items or experiences for this year’s auction or future events. Contributions of any size play a vital role in raising funds for the RNLI and helping its volunteers continue to save lives at sea.

All proceeds from the evening will go directly to supporting the essential work of Staithes and Runswick RNLI.
