Seasiders Up Three Places After First Away Win

Bridlington Town are off the bottom of NPL East after a shock 2-1 win at Dunston, on Saturday.

Brett Agnew's men would've been long odds to break their away duck at promotion-chasing Dunston, on Saturday, but that's exactly what they did.

It was Agnew himself who inspired them with the opening goal in the first half.

Declan Parker doubled Brid's lead midway through the second half and even though Terry Galbraith slotted home a penalty for handball, five minutes later, Brid hung on for a famous victory.

Things went from bad to worse for the fifth-placed Tyne & Wear side when they had Daniel Capewell sent off in the last minute.

The win, Brid's first away from home in the NPL East this season, saw them leapfrog Pickering Town, Pontefract Collieries and Sheffield FC though all three sides have two games in hand on Agnew's men.

Elsewhere, Whitby Town saw their trip to FC United of Manchester postponed for a waterlogged pitch an hour before kick-off, while Scarborough Athletic did not have a scheduled fixture.
