After an enforced year off because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Surf Festival returns to Scarborough’s North Bay today.
It takes place from 10am to 4pm on Royal Albert Drive near the Freddie Gilroy statue.
Steve McNamara from Dexter's Surf Shop is looking forward to it:
The event will see local surf experts offering taster sessions either in the water or on a surf simulator.
There's also an organised competition as well as a litter pick.
Steve says the town is developing a strong reputation for surfing:
