The race is back on for Scarborough Sailor Guy Waites in the golden Globe Round the world Yacht race.
Last week Guy had decided to head for port in Brazil after a Barnacle infestation slowed his yacht to a crawl.
But over the last few days Guy says he has changed his mind and is now back on course and heading for cape town.
The Scarborough Skipper sailing solo around the world in the golden globe yacht race is back on course.
Last week Guy decided to head for port in Brazil after a Barnacles infestation slowed his yacht to a snail's pace.
But now Guy says he has changed his mind and is continuing the race, he's currently heading for Cape Town but says the barnacles are making for some interesting sailing.
Guy says his slow progress due to the barnacles is causing him a few challenges including with his provisions.
Guy is currently in last position in the race but is determined to complete his circumnavigation. He is hoping not to have to take the boat out of the water to remove the barnacles.
