Scarborough's Lifeboat crew are delighted one of their volunteers, John Huntley, has passed out as a deputy coxswain.
They say John will now have full responsibility for the all weather lifeboat on exercises and shouts when the full time coxswain is on leave.
To pass a coxswain exam takes a lot of time, hard work and effort and is by no means a easy thing to do.
'Well done John and we are glad we have another pair of safe hands at the helm.', they added.
