Ahead of the creation of a new North Yorkshire Council the housing issues facing the Scarborough Borough are being highlighted in a new strategy.
The new housing strategy for the Scarborough Borough has been created with eye on making sure the new unitary authority, which will take over from the Borough Council next year, is fully aware of the challenges in the local area.
Borough Council Housing Manager Andrew Rowe says the borough is quite different from other parts of North Yorkshire.
Housing will be one of the many services currently provided by the Borough Council which will become the responsibility of the new "North Yorkshire Council" which replace both the borough and county council in April 2023.
Borough Housing Manager Andrew Rowe says the area has some very different challenges to other parts of the county.
