Rio Allan's last-gasp penalty rescued the Seadogs deep into injury time, on Saturday, at Bridlington.
Visitors Bedford Town grabbed the lead on the half hour only for Harry Green to hit back within three minutes.
The Midlands outfit regained their advantage seconds into the restart.
Allan then won and converted a spot kick five minutes into added time for 2-2 in the sides' National North encounter.
SAFC TV caught up with Boro boss Jono Greening for his post-match comments.
They asked if he thought the Seadogs got out of jail with their late leveller:
" Yeah, a little bit. We obviously gave them the first goal, the miscommunication between Witts and Hully. We just give them a goal on a plate really.
"And then we did well to get back into the game. Greeny's obviously done a bit of magic, cut inside and pinged it into the bottom corner.
"We talked to them at half time about coming out really strong, not giving anything away being nice and tidy for 10, 15 minutes and then growing into the game and then we give a goal away inside 25 seconds, which absolutely killed us. And then, they get everyone behind the ball, start time wasting, the keeper starts taking his time and everything. Taking their time trying to frustrate us, which is what are away teams do and they do it really well.
"And then we had to make a few changes, try and, change the game up a little bit. And we took it all the way down to the final few seconds to get the equaliser."
Greening revealed Jake Hull and Ryan Whitley argued following Bedford's first goal:
" They were both arguing about it at half time. Everyone was arguing about it. But for me, I think, if Witts stays in his goal, Hully can just head it back to him and he just catches it. But Witts is steaming out and he's shouting 'my ball' and then that puts Hully off a little bit. And I think for me, in that situation, if I was playing, I just head the ball out of play.
"Just if you don't know the right decision, just hit it out of play for a throw-in or for a corner and then you set your defence back up to stop the attack or I think for me, it's probably a bit of both really. Witts shouldn't have come out, he shouldn't have shouted and probably Hully should've dealt with it."
