This is an update following an earlier appeal about a serious collision involving two men on motorcycles which happened on Mook Street, near Westow, at around 10.35am on Sunday 2 August 2026.
Both were airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
Sadly, North Yorkshire Police can now confirm that one of the riders has sadly passed away after a short period in hospice care.
The second rider remains in hospital with serious injuries.
Officers urge anyone who may have seen either a yellow Yamaha motorcycle or a white Honda motorcycle in the area around this time and has not yet spoken to police, to make contact with them on the details below.
