A special adults-only pre-Halloween disco will take place at Scarborough's Rosco Rooms to raise essential funds for Saint Catherine's Hospice.
Vital funds will support end-of-life care across the region following a special pre-Halloween disco in Scarborough this month.
The adults-only charity night will take place at the Rosco Rooms on the 17th of October, promising classic old-school entertainment while raising money for Saint Catherine's Hospice.
The hospice provides specialist nursing care to patients and supports families across a massive sixteen-hundred square mile area, requiring approximately seven point eight million pounds annually to deliver its services.
Local DJ Michael DeFreitas is set to lead the event, bringing traditional disco music back to the town for attendees looking to revisit their youth.
The upcoming party will serve as the fourth and final event put together by the current organising team, who are determined to finish their fundraising efforts on a high note.
Chief organiser Sara Pickering said:
"The disco is in aid of the ultimate good cause, our very own St. Catherine's Hospice. And I can guarantee that every penny raised will go to this charity. So, obviously, everybody knows the hospice, it touches everyone. And it's such a worthy cause. It costs about 7.8 million to deliver all the services, and these range from providing specialist nursing care to patients, while also supporting families and carers across a really massive square mile area. About 1,600 miles, I believe. So, yes, it's our fourth and last event. These things are quite difficult to organise, but we're going to go out with a bang. So we just thought this would be the good cause to go for."
Alongside the music, the evening will feature a charity raffle with prizes including donated tickets to see the rock band Little Angels in Newcastle.
Organisers are aiming to recreate a traditional disco atmosphere, offering a nostalgic night out that stands out from other local events.
Outlining the entertainment planned for the night, Sara Pickering added:
"It's a Hallowe'en event, obviously two weeks before, the 31st. It's at Rosco Rooms, which is in Scarborough, and it's hosted by DJ Michael DeFreitas. It's an adults only disco. With, in addition to our live guest vocalist, we also have a special appearance from the power dancers. It'll be great. It's one of those classic old school discos that we all miss, revisiting our youth. There's nothing really out there like this. So we've got traditional disco, fantastic raffle, and I'd just like to say we've had two tickets donated to see Little Angels in Newcastle."
