A Seamer hotel, bar and restaurant has been nominated for a major award.
The Mayfield has successfully been selected as a finalist for ‘The Great British Pub Awards 2025’.
It's in The Best Pub for Entertainment category and the awards are in Leeds in October.
Here's Mayfield general manager Peter Sisson:
"It means a lot, obviously mine, it's like a family owned business and it's really good for town and village to be like, yeah, a lot of the thanks and obviously congratulations as the go to team really 'cause it's in the entertainment category. Leah, the events manager alongside Oliver and Harry, the chefs in the Mayfield, they run all the entertainment side of things, so it's them and the team that obviously the congratulation goes to."
Peter thanked customers but further emphasised that the success of the Main Street venue is down to his hard-working staff:
"Because they're the ones that are doing the entertainment from the marketing that sort of market all the events to the team that deliver it on the day. And that obviously comes from Lee, the events manager and downwards really. So I'd just like to thank all them and obviously thank all the customers. We have a lot of loyal customers, really.
"I mean, we're one of the busiest hubs/hospitality venues in the town really and even the entertainment side, which is obviously a lot of customers that don't always visit us, but we do have our regulars as well."
