North Yorkshire Police have issued an appeal for information following a robbery that took place on New Quay Road in Whitby.
The incident occurred at approximately 2.10pm on Tuesday 1 April 2025.
According to police reports, the robbery involved a suspect who watched the victim enter their Personal Identification Number (PIN) into an ATM. The suspect then proceeded to push the victim away from the machine, withdraw money, and subsequently leave the scene in the direction of the train station.
The victim, a man in his 70s, was reportedly shaken by the ordeal but thankfully did not sustain any injuries.
Police are now seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect. He is described as a white man, approximately 6ft tall, of stocky build, with short hair and clean shaven. The suspect is also noted to have a Geordie accent and was wearing a dark-coloured jacket and dark trousers at the time of the incident.
North Yorkshire Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or has any information that could aid their investigation to come forward.
