Pickering Town were edged out 3-2 in the North East on Friday night in their last friendly.
The Pikes went behind early on at Northern League Second Division Redcar Town.
However, the visitors wiped out their hosts' seventh-minute lead around the half hour. George Brown netted calmly from the penalty spot.
Town then regained the advantage six minutes before half-time.
Joe Wood slammed home just after the hour for 2-2 but Redcar won it 18 minutes from time, with a third.
Pickering start their Northern Counties East campaign next Saturday at Rotherham side Parkgate.
