North Yorkshire COVID Vaccine Rate Higher Than England Average

482,000 people have had a jab and hospital cases are falling.

The COVID Vaccine uptake in North Yorkshire is significantly higher than elsewhere in the country.

Health bosses say Just under 65% of the county's adult population have been vaccinated compared with 53% across England.

Amanda Bloor from the NHS says the numbers are encouraging.

482,000 people in North Yorkshire have received a COVID jab, but despite that success there are still around 31 thousand people eligible for a vaccination who have yet to come forward.

Amanda Bloor says the vaccination programme is having a positive effect on the number of people needing hospital treatment for COVID.
