Graeme Lee will take charge of his first match as Whitby Town manager this Saturday as the Blues look to bounce back from a heavy midweek defeat.
A new tactical approach will be on display at the Towbar Express Stadium this Saturday as Graeme Lee takes charge of his first match as Whitby Town manager.
The Blues will host Bamber Bridge this weekend, seeking a vital response on the pitch. The squad heads into the fixture on the back of a heavy six-two thumping suffered on home turf on Tuesday evening.
A familiar footballing name returns to the club to lead the recovery. The former Hartlepool United boss is the son of legendary ex-Blues manager Tony Lee, bringing a deep family connection to his new role on the Yorkshire Coast.
Fresh talent will also be available for the weekend clash. Lucas Barnes has arrived on loan from National League side Harrogate Town, as the new manager swiftly moves to bolster his options ahead of the match.
Supporters can expect a structured but attacking mindset from the newly appointed boss. Outlining his favoured style of play and his expectations for the squad, he detailed his vision for the team's future performances.
Speaking to Whitby Town TV, Graeme Lee said:
"I like my teams to be very organised and understand individual roles in the team and their roles and other people's roles so we can get as much discipline and as organised as we possibly can. You just adapt to the type of players you've got and try and play to strengths and so not trying to force people to do certain things that might not be comfortable with. So I'll always be adaptable in the way but first and foremost I encourage them to play the game they have on the pitch and be on the front foot and be aggressive. We all want to score goals but get people in the box, put balls in the box and go from there. I don't like people being restricted, but I need to be organised when we're attacking. A lot comes down to being the organisation part of it and then giving the lads a bit of freedom in the final third."
You can hear more from Graeme Lee, plus Leon Parker and Denny Ingram on the latest edition of The Codcast.
Kick off on Saturday is 3pm.
