A new seafront café on the Yorkshire Coast has applied for an alcohol licence from 10am.
The recently opened Fall in Love With Me café and ice cream parlour at Olympia Leisure in Scarborough South Bay applied for a licence to North Yorkshire Council to sell alcohol seven days a week.
Rubicon Pastimes’ proposal seeks permission for the supply of alcohol from 10am to 11pm, Monday to Sunday.
The dessert bar, which is located on the ground floor of Olympia Leisure on Foreshore Road, has also applied for opening hours from 10am to 11.30pm, seven days a week.
In a social media post in December, Olympia announced: “We’re so excited to finally welcome you into our brand-new in-house café & dessert bar ‘Fall In Love With Me’, serving up fresh coffees, soft-serve whippy, scooped ice cream, sundaes, milkshakes and more”.
If the application is approved, the provision of late-night refreshments would also be permitted from 11pm to 11.30pm, daily.
The proposal is currently open to representations from members of the public.
Anyone wishing to comment on the proposal should contact the council by Tuesday, March 17.
Members of the public who want to make representations regarding the application must give notice in writing to: North Yorkshire Council, Licensing Services, Town Hall, St Nicholas Street, Scarborough, YO11 2HG or by email to licensing.east@northyorks.gov.uk.
