Northern Powergrid say electricity supplies in Scarborough have now been restored following a major outage.
Listeners to This Is The Coast told us that their power went off at around 9:20am.
Here's what Northern Powergrid said at the time about the power cut:
The power cut affecting your property has been caused by an unexpected problem with the cables or equipment that serve your area. If you need to report an emergency, please call 105. We are facing a major power cut in this area. We are working towards restoring it as early as possible.
The affected area appeared to be Newby & Scalby in Scarborough and areas including Hackness, Burnsiton, Cloughton, Harwood Dale, Brompton, Broxa & Satergate.
Northern Powergrid say 2,270 properties were initially affected by the loss of power which was the result of a fault on an underground cable.
The company says some properties had power restored around 9:30am, they say power was restored in all areas by 11:10am.
