Bridlington Town have made a major statement of intent ahead of the new Northern Premier League East campaign by securing the signature of a highly-rated forward.
The young attacker arrives at Queensgate from division rivals Ossett United, injecting significant pace and directness into the Seasiders' frontline. Luca Bolino lands in East Yorkshire boasting strong pedigree at this level, having previously enjoyed notable spells with both Tadcaster Albion and Harrogate Railway. Despite a frantic race for his signature from several rival clubs across the region, it is Bridlington who have won the battle for the coveted forward.
The capture represents a significant coup for manager Scott Kerr, who admitted he has been a long-term admirer of the player's attributes and work ethic.
"I am over the moon to get Luca on board, especially as he has had lots of interest from other clubs," Kerr said, reflecting on the club's latest piece of transfer business. "I’m a big fan of Luca—he fits the profile of player we are looking for perfectly. He is quick, direct, and hard-working, with a top mentality to improve both himself and us as a team. He is a young lad, but he has already played a lot of games at this level and will be a fantastic asset."
For Bolino, the decision to head to Queensgate was cemented after positive discussions with the management team regarding the direction the club is heading.
"After speaking with Scott and hearing about the ambition and environment that’s been created here, I felt it would be a great fit for me," Bolino stated. "I am really looking forward to getting going and hopefully contributing to a really successful season for the club."
Bolino will officially link up with his new teammates when the squad reports back for pre-season training in a few weeks' time.
