Over 400 people attended the Scarborough Job Fair last week with dozens of job offers made on the day.
The 11th outing for the Scarborough Jobs Fair saw a welcome return to a face to face event and resulted in a record number of job offers being made.
Organisers, The Opportunity Centre (part of The Aspire Igen Group) and Scarborough Jobcentre Plus Recruitment Managers, say they were thrilled to host the event. They say:
"The event was representative of the jobs available in our area and there were over 500 jobs on offer from companies representing a wide range of sectors including skilled and unskilled roles, engineering, admin, driving, production, hospitality, visitor economy, health and social care plus retail and many more."
In his opening speech Sir Robert Goodwill thanked organisers for their enthusiasm and ongoing commitment to hosting this key event for the area and welcomed the 28 Employers who attended on the day.
Co-organisers Janine & Bron - Recruitment Managers from Scarborough Jobcentre Plus - said:
“With over 400 visitors the employers overwhelming response was that they were pleased to be back seeing candidates face to face”
Employers reported an amazing response the the fair with David Woods Bakery having arranged 79 interviews from the day, Kingspan recorded over 250 visitors to their stand with Haven Blue Dolphin, Burlington Care, Sainsbury, Castle Employment Agency & Hackness Grange counting job offers in their dozens.
