Boss Jono Greening was a happy man after Scarborough Athletic won at promotion rivals Brackley on Saturday.
The Seadogs are now only outside the National North play-offs on goal difference.
On-loan Aidan Rutledge was the star again, firing home the only goal of the game, at Brackley, in the first half.
A delighted Greening spoke to SAFC TV after the match:
Boro are back in action on Boxing Day when Darlington visit The Flamingo Land Stadium with a 1pm kick off.
