The Fire Brigade were on site for most of Friday at a blaze off Seamer Road in Scarborough.
Firefighters asked the public to avoid Grange Avenue, off Seamer Road as they tackled a residential roof fire on Friday afternoon.
The affected building is close to Penny Petroleum petrol station. Smoke was blowing in the wind past the petrol station and across Seamer Road earlier in the day.
