The A64 will be closed overnight on Saturday 4th October between York and Malton as National Highways complete repair works.
National Highways have been carrying out repairs to areas of defective carriageway on the A64 between Sand Hutton and Whitwell on the Hill over the last two weekends.
They have also been renewing worn out road markings on the road and at junctions along the route.
This work is weather dependent and, unfortunately, the rain over the last two weekends has meant that some of this work has been delayed.
National Highways say:
"We will need one further overnight closure on the night of Saturday 4 October.
The closure will be in both directions of the A64 between Hopgrove and Claxton between 8pm and 6am the following morning.
We will aim to complete all work as soon as possible to minimise any further disruption."
Motorists will be diverted at:
- Hopgrove on to the A1237
- on to the A19 northbound
- drivers will then continue on the A19 to Thirsk
- before taking the A170 towards Pickering
- and then the A169 southbound to re-join the A64.
