A new photography exhibition celebrating Scarborough's LGBTQ plus community has opened at Scarborough Art Gallery.
Picturing Pride is a series of photographs from Aidan Brooks, designed to promote individuality and pride.
It runs until 26th April.
The chair of Scarborough Pride is George Wakely:
Aidan said:
"Society has a way of concerning us with labels and assumptions. My hope is for everyone to take back their space and proudly own who they are."
George adds Scarborough Pride worked with the photographer on the project, extensively:
The exhibition sets the stage for the next big event on the Scarborough Pride calendar: Scarborough Pride 2025, which will take place on Saturday, 13th September, 2025.
Scarborough Pride is only made possible and free to the public by the kind support of business allies and local sponsors. If you or your business are thinking of getting involved or are wanting to sponsor Pride, you can do so by heading to Scarborough Pride’s website: www.scarboroughmuseumsandgalleries.co.uk.
