East Riding College hosted its annual graduation ceremony on Saturday, celebrating the success of 143 graduates at the Priory Church in Bridlington.
Academic staff, representatives of partner universities, governors of TEC Partnership, industry sponsors, and the families and friends of those graduating gathered to join in the personal successes of the graduates and celebrate their many achievements.
Graduates and guests were welcomed to the St Mary’s Walk campus for gowns and photography before heading to the church for the ceremony.
Claire Settle, BS (Hons) Social Science, had a particularly special day. She was awarded the academic prize ‘Graduate of the Year’ due to her unwavering dedication to her studies.
Excited to accept the award, Claire shared:
“Thank you [to East Riding College] for providing not just education, but a community. The college has been a place where I have learned not just who I am, but who I can become.
“The support and resources I have received from East Riding College throughout the years have been amazing. Without the college, I would not be standing where I am receiving this award!”
Ann Hardy, CEO of the TEC Partnership, was delighted by the celebrations. She said:
“I’d like to offer my congratulations to all those receiving their awards here today.
“This is a time of celebration and satisfaction for everyone. As today’s graduates go forward, they can take pride in the fact that their qualifications will be well respected and highly valued.”
