Scarborough Borough Council says festive activities in Scarborough Town centre have bought trade to the town.
The borough council says a programme of entertainment over the last three weekends has animated the town centre and along with the North Street Ice rink has bought families to the town centre.
Janet Deacon is the Borough Council's Head of Tourism, Janet says local shops have reported strong trade.
Alongside the real ice rink on North Street an entertainment stage in the town centre over the last three weekends has seen a range of entertainment delivered for festive shoppers including local choirs, magicians, pantomime characters and even bouncing elves.
Janet Deacon says the feedback from shoppers and retailers has been positive.
The real ice ice rink has been in operation since December 3rd and will be at the North Street Car park until January 2nd.
