They're looking forward to hosting Scarborough Athletic at the Mounting Systems Stadium this coming campaign and have welcomed back a popular local lad.
In preparation for the upcoming season and hosting Scarborough Athletic, Bridlington Town say they're are hoping to make a number of improvements to their home on Queensgate.
The club say they need lots more volunteers to come and support during match days.
Here's Brid Town C-E-O Gavin Branton on how the groundshare came about:
"I got contacted by the Scarborough directorship. We had a couple of meetings. We then got involved with the fa because the big thing was the ground up to step two or could it be brought up to step two?
It can be, it's been brought up to step two. And then, we obviously had meetings. How can we work together? How can we integrate the Scarborough fans? How can we get them through? And we're still having meetings to, to make things better for you all.
Yeah. It's, It's obviously a two way street. We will, we'll gain from the footfall, the hospitality and so on. But the big thing is that the end of the day helping out friends is priceless. And that's what we want to do"
Gavin says there's plenty of work involved in making it all work but says he's unlikely to see many of the resulting Scarborough fixtures:
"it's interesting. Certainly, I won't see much of it because obviously when Scarborough at home we're away, I'll obviously get to the odd Tuesday night game.
But yeah, there's a lot of logistical things to do, meeting with the Police, people like that to make sure that we're safe, things that we need to do to the ground. But yeah, it's exciting. So yeah, we'll take this season as it comes. We'll help you as much as we can.
And yeah, it brings about memories of 2007 going to the first meeting at Edgehill Community Centre with sir Pete Smuthwaite
Meanwhile Brid have announced the return of former Scarborough Athletic and Whitby Town striker Jake Day.
Day started out at his hometown club Brid, before representing The Seadogs and The Blues in NPL Premier.
He was most recently at Derbyshire National North side Alfreton Town.
Day is now back at Brid, much to Gavin's delight:
"Yeah, local lad, come down two steps. So, you know, he knows what he's doing at at step two. So hopefully big sign in at step four. We expect a lot from him.
We have said five years for conference North, but you know, this season we just don't wanna be in the, the bottom half if we can somewhere just nicely safe and, and just kick on next year. "
The Bridlington CEO is also inviting more local people to get involved with the club this season, the club have issued an appeal for matchday volunteers.
"A lot of our volunteers are, are ageing, shall we say, and it's always good to have new blood, which we've done in our media section, and we want to try and carry that through the rest of the club. So the more the merrier, whatever people want to offer.
Great. Come on board."
