A dramatic rescue carried out by Bridlington and Scarborough lifeboat volunteers during Storm Amy will be broadcast on national television on Tuesday.
Dramatic footage of a severe storm rescue will be broadcast to the nation on Tuesday evening.
Local lifeboat volunteers from the Yorkshire Coast are set to feature in an upcoming episode of the BBC Two documentary series Saving Lives at Sea.
The episode will offer viewers a unique insight into the extreme challenges faced by emergency responders during a major multi-agency operation on the 3rd and 4th of October 2025.

Crews from Bridlington and Scarborough RNLI lifeboat stations joined forces with Humber RNLI, HM Coastguard, and other local vessels to answer a call for help during Storm Amy, which was recorded as one of the most severe storms to affect the region last year.
Bridlington volunteers launched their all-weather lifeboat, the 'Antony Patrick Jones', straight into towering seas and gale-force winds to help a Dutch trawler that had lost power 13 miles off the Yorkshire coast.. The relentless weather created what officials described as some of the toughest conditions experienced by the crew during the entirety of 2025.
The long-running BBC series provides a behind-the-scenes look at lifesaving operations around the UK. It highlights the professionalism, courage, and dedication required by volunteer lifeboat crews who stand ready to launch at any hour of the day or night, regardless of the dangerous conditions.
Bridlington RNLI Volunteer Press Officer Mike Milner said:
"We are proud that the dedication and commitment of our volunteer crew will be showcased on Saving Lives at Sea. The programme highlights the realities of lifesaving at sea and the challenges our volunteer crews and partner agencies face when responding in difficult weather conditions. We hope it provides viewers with a greater understanding of the RNLI's vital work and the difference our volunteers make in saving lives."
The upcoming broadcast will give audiences across the country the opportunity to see the region's volunteers in action as they continue their vital mission of saving lives at sea.
The episode will air on BBC Two at 8pm on Tuesday the 13th of October 2026, and will also be available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
