Brid Fans Left Fuming By Late Call Off

There was frustration for Bridlington Town supporters on Saturday.

The match referee inspected early at the Hudgell Solicitor Stadium with the club delighted to advise supporters the match was still going ahead as of 2pm.

Fans travelled from across the county as Mike Thompson's men were due to entertain highflying Cleethorpes Town.

The club had even announced their team line-up, which included former Scarborough Athletic winger Nick Hutton and Mackenzie Warne, the son of Derby County manager, Paul Warne:

Most supporters and officials had arrived when a late inspection resulted in the match being called off around 2.40pm.

Temperatures struggled to get above freezing all day.

With their visitors already at the ground, Brid may be liable for Cleethorpes' travelling costs.
