Beth Meade talks to This is the Coast as she is presented with the freedom of the Borough of Scarborough.
The Freedom of the Borough of Scarborough has been bestowed upon Arsenal and England footballer and Golden Boot winner, Beth Mead MBE, who grew up in Hinderwell near Whitby.
Beth was at the final ever meeting of Scarborough Borough Council this morning to receive the accolade.
Just before the ceremony Beth spoke to Paddy.

Scarborough Rugby Union star Zoe Aldcroft was also given the freedom of the borough at today's meeting. The Gloucester-Hartpury and England rugby union player, started her rugby playing career at Scarborough Rugby Union Club.
Zoe was unable to attend the ceremony in person due to her current training schedule. Zoe’s award was accepted on her behalf by her parents.
Zoe Aldcroft was nominated for her award by borough councillor, Janet Jefferson.
Zoe's mum Ros accepted the award on her behalf.
