Scarborough Police are appealing for information following an incident in the town on Easter Bank Holiday Monday.
It happened on Foreshore Road outside Gilly’s Amusements between 3.30pm and 4pm on Monday April 18th, when a man sexually assaulted a teenage girl and was then detained by members of the public.
Officers are appealing to anyone who was there at the time and saw the incident to come forward along with anyone who has CCTV covering the area.
Police say:
"The area was likely to be busy at the time with it being a bank holiday and the incident may have attracted onlookers who could have heard or seen the incident or the aftermath.
If you witnessed it or have any other information that could help our investigation, please get in touch."

A man in his 20s was arrested at the time and has been released on conditional police bail.
