More Information (This is the Coast is not responsible for external websites)
Caring for others starts with caring for yourself.
Whether you’re a family member supporting a loved one or a professional carer, the role you play is deeply valuable — but it can also take a toll. This supportive online workshop from SWR Mind is here to help you protect your own wellbeing while continuing to care for others.
Based on our Keeping Mentally Well as a Carer workbook, this session offers a space to pause, reflect, and equip yourself with strategies to stay emotionally resilient.
We’ll explore:
The emotional impact of caring — from joy to guilt, stress, and burnout
How to recognise when your own mental health needs attention
Practical ways to manage stress and recharge your energy
Boundary-setting, self-compassion, and guilt-free self-care
Reflection tools to help you stay grounded and connected to your needs
This workshop is for unpaid carers, family members, and professional carers alike — anyone supporting others and needing a moment to focus on their own mental wellbeing.
This workshop is split over 2 sessions: 22nd and 29th September 10am-11:30am. You can register at https://swrmind.org.uk/series/mindpath-workshops-keeping-mentally-well-as-a-carer (or give us a call on 01723 339838) and we will send you the workshop link and workbook in advance of the sessions.
