Join palaeontologist Fossiliam (Dr Liam Herringshaw) for this family-friendly fossil-finding tour of Robin Hood’s Bay. We’ll meet at the Old Coastguard Station for an intro chat, and a chance to look at some of the fossils we might find, before heading down onto the beach. Looking closely at the bedrock, and picking carefully through the shingle, we’ll discover that Robin Hood’s Bay is a treasure trove for fossil-finders. Not only are there Jurassic creatures like ammonites, belemnites and devil’s toenails, but surprising specimens sometimes pop out of the Ice Age clays too!
