East Coast Picutres

The Yorkshire Wind Orchestra is a group of around 40 musicians from across Yorkshire who enjoy playing a wide range of music written or arranged for woodwind, brass and percussion.
Led by musical director, Keiron Anderson, this special programme features works that reflect the region’s stunning landscapes and maritime heritage, capturing the essence of the sea and shore in rich, expressive sound. A highlight of the evening is Nigel Hess’s East Coast Pictures - a suite of three contrasting movements inspired by the east coast of the USA, yet which resonates with our own coastal landscape. It portrays contrasting pictures of Shelter Island, the Catskills Mountains and New York.
With a programme that evokes the power and beauty of the sea and the British landscape, this concert promises an unforgettable musical journey, performed with passion and artistry by one of Yorkshire’s finest wind ensembles.
