Do you remember seaside holidays on the Yorkshire Coast with nostalgia? Ice creams … donkey rides … grandad’s knotted hanky as a hat …?
Mal Seddon and Annie Thompson have worked together on a project, using photographs and words, that remembers the seaside towns and beaches of the past, when they were crowded with holidaymakers and day trippers. They compare these memories to the empty beaches they walk today. Their work is a celebration of the constant beauty of sea and sky and a reminder of loved ones and times that will never come again.
Bridlington Bay is being presented during the weekend of 14/15 June in a home-based studio space in Whitby. This is a great opportunity to see the work and meet the photographer. The studio is just a short walk from Whitby town centre and entry is free.
