An arrest has been made by Armed Response Officers after they spotted a vehicle believed to be linked to a disqualified driver and wanted man on their routine patrols in the area.  

Scarborough Spa Cliff Lift has been closed with immediate effect due to a number of issues which have been identified with its infrastructure and critical components.

Visitors to Scarborough's beaches are being urged to stay at least one hundred metres away from resting seals to avoid causing the animals unnecessary stress.
