Who Should Start the Yorkshire Coast 10k Run?

Nominate the person you think should be the official starter for the 2024 Yorkshire Coast 10k.

The McCain Yorkshire Coast 10K and Fun Run is back on Sunday 20th October with 2,200 runners taking part in the main race from all over the country.

This year’s 10k race has sold out and starts at Scarborough Spa at 9:45am.

The 5k (11+) race starts at 10:05am, entries for this race close on 14th September.

The 2.6km Fun Run starts at 1130 and the 1.5km Fun Run starts at 1200 - entries are open for both runs until September 14th, but if places are available then runners can enter on the day.

The whole event is hosted by Paddy from This Is The Coast and we’re looking for a Race Starter!

Last year, the honour was given to Stuart Bowes from Bridlington Road Runners who was nominated by listeners to this is the Coast. This year it could be someone YOU nominate?

Do you know an adult or child on the Yorkshire Coast who deserves to fire the horn to start the 10K, alongside Paddy on the balcony at Scarborough Spa?

This could be a runner, or someone with no connection to the event or running itself but really deserve the opportunity. It could even be you!

Race organisers Scarborough Athletic Club have a prize bundle for the Race Starter.

Entries are open until 11:59pm on Sunday 15th September. The starter will be chosen by a panel from Scarborough Athletics Club.
